Wise Words
Use those talents you have. You will make it. You will give joy to the world. Take this tip from nature: The woods would be a very silent place if no birds sang except those who sang best.

Hurricane Celia

Perfectly circular, powerful Hurricane Celia spaned hundreds of miles over the Pacific Ocean in this image from June 24, 2010. Rough-textured clouds surround the storm’s distinct eye. Farther from the center of the storm, spiral arms appear thinner and smoother. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer, or MODIS, on NASA’s Aqua satellite captured this true-color image of Hurricane Celia at 1:55 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on June 24, 2010. Just five minutes later, the U.S. National Hurricane Center classified Celia as a Category 4 hurricane with sustained winds of 135 miles per hour. Image Credit: NASA

2009-11-19-zaphBehold my cat, Zaph.  Full name: Zaphod Beeblebrox, also known as the Beeb, Handsome Boy, and a few other things (mostly complimentary).  Hard to believe he’s been living here for three years now.  Time flies!

One of the things that always gets me is his great big eyes that look turquoise in some slants of light.  Usually he runs when he sees me coming with the camera, but today he cooperated.  I think he knows that I’m getting desperate for photos for my blog!

Feeling chilly tonight.  Wearing two Snuggies (one on backwards, one on regular way) and have a big ol’ throw around my neck and shoulders.

I keep hearing that people relapse from the Big Pig — that they go out the moment they start feeling better, like I did yesterday — and blammo!  Well, I have a meeting with my professor tomorrow.  I also have some work responsibilities to take care of (like showing up, would be a start!).  But at the same time, I know I’m not going to get better until it’s done with me, and if I try to hurry it up, then it’s going to take its time.  Because it’s evil that way. :)

I wish I lived in the kind of place where they would deliver cupcakes to your door at 10:30 PM.  I could really go for some right now.  Like those super-yummy lemon ones at McPhee’s.  The ones that get icing sugar all over your face and you feel like you’re a kid again.  I actually dreamt about them this afternoon.

Okay, time to reload my Duran Duran playlist and do some digital doodling.  My Muse says she’s been stuck in bed long enough!

  • He’s a beautiful kitty and his eyes are surreal! Hope you feel better soon.

  • Ria:

He’s a beautiful cat! I love that picture, too. It’s got that old-timey mostly-black-and-white feel to it, and then comes the eyes in that startlingly bright colour. You should sell prints of that, really, since it’s such an awesome picture. :3
