Wise Words
Use those talents you have. You will make it. You will give joy to the world. Take this tip from nature: The woods would be a very silent place if no birds sang except those who sang best.

Hurricane Celia

Perfectly circular, powerful Hurricane Celia spaned hundreds of miles over the Pacific Ocean in this image from June 24, 2010. Rough-textured clouds surround the storm’s distinct eye. Farther from the center of the storm, spiral arms appear thinner and smoother. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer, or MODIS, on NASA’s Aqua satellite captured this true-color image of Hurricane Celia at 1:55 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on June 24, 2010. Just five minutes later, the U.S. National Hurricane Center classified Celia as a Category 4 hurricane with sustained winds of 135 miles per hour. Image Credit: NASA

Hi!

Today is Day 24 of the Swine Flu Saga at my house. Hubby is still sick. I am still sick. But since we are not ridiculously wealthy or total sloths, we’ve decided to leave our house and come back from The Big Pig. Since we’re no longer contagious (we just feel rotten from all the secondary complications we wound up with), we’re trying to take our lives back.

I am sitting at the university at the moment, in the middle of Chem-a-thon. After missing three weeks of class, I am now frantically trying to get caught up before my exam a week from tomorrow. The professor is a sweetheart, and the material is sinking in, and I’m doing all I can to prevent my mark from slipping from where I want it to be.

So today’s agenda was:

9:30 – 10:15: Chem Extra Help
11:30 – 12:30: Chem Class
12:30 – 1:30: Chem Tutorial
and, finally, I’m about to go to
2:30 – 3:30: Chem Tutorial, The Sequel.

I WILL GET CAUGHT UP! I WILL BE READY FOR MY EXAM! I HAVE HAD TOO MUCH DIET PEPSI TODAY!

Anyway…

I start a new job tomorrow, and because it is a confidential workplace, I can’t say a whole lot beyond a) it’s an important place, b) I love having a job where I know I’m making a difference, and c) I’m really looking forward to it.

Okay, time to pack up and head back to the Science building. Rock on!

(That would be Geology, though … :) )
